FAQS
What is Fascia?
Fascia is a network of connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, organ, bone, and nerve in your body. It plays a key role in movement and posture. When fascia becomes tight or restricted due to injury, stress, or poor posture, it can lead to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. Myofascial Release therapy works to alleviate these restrictions and restore your body’s natural movement patterns.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Please visit the Patient Forms page and fill these out in advance of your visit. Plan to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing for your session. Shorts and a tank top work great, if that fits your comfort level. Feel free to change when you arrive. For pediatrics, I generally facilitate a play-based approach for treatment with you and your child with some of their favorite toys to build rapport and then add in MFR and HT. My healing studio is on the second floor. Let me know if this is a concern, and I can make other arrangements.
Do you accept health insurance?
I do not accept insurance, and this is for lots of good reasons. This allows me to branch out from the traditional physical therapy model, providing you unique, holistic care. I incorporate additional approaches including Healing Touch, which are not covered under insurance. I spend a large portion of our time together with hands-on therapy, and this sets me apart from a traditional physical therapy model. In addition, we will tailor a program and frequency that works best for you and your life, rather than a set number of visits.
How can Myofascial Release help me?
Myofascial Release can help alleviate pain, improve mobility, and increase flexibility. It's effective for addressing chronic conditions such as back pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, headaches, and postural issues. By targeting the fascia, this therapy works to release deep-seated tension and restore normal movement patterns, helping you feel more comfortable and mobile.
What is healing touch & how can it help me?
As defined by Healing Touch Program, I focus on energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body. These non-invasive techniques employ the hands to clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields, thus affecting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmonies in the energy system, placing the client in a position to self heal. Healing Touch is a great tool for pain management, stress, anxiety and more.
How many sessions of Myofascial Release will I need?
The number of sessions required varies based on the individual and the condition being treated. Some people experience relief after just a few sessions, while others may need ongoing treatment for more complex issues. We create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals.
